Good morning everyone and welcome to the Minor League Ball Morning Report for Tuesday, July 10th, 2018. Hard to believe it is already almost the middle of July. I am not enjoying this summer very much. . .too hot for my taste. . .so the sooner this gets over with, the better.
****New York Mets rookie Corey Oswalt gave up just one hit in six innings yesterday against the Philadelphia Phillies, giving up three walks and fanning seven. Unfortunately he gave up a three-run double to Aaron Nola and took the loss, but it was the strongest of Oswalt’s four career major league starts.
****Oakland Athletics prospect Jesus Luzardo continues to strangle the Double-A Texas League, this time giving up just three hits and one walk over six shutout innings for Midland, fanning 10. He now has a 74/15 K/BB in 64 innings.
****The indomitable Eric Longenhagen at Fangraphs has scouting reports on Futures Games participants.
