Pirates MOD #2 First Round Scouting Reports and Balance Round Targets

I have completed my scouting for my first round targets that I detailed in MOD #1. These players are:

USF RHP Shane McClanahan, South Alabama OF Travis Swaggerty, HS OF Jarred Kelenic, Georgia Tech C Joey Bart, Florida 3B Jonathan India, Wichita State 3B Alec Bohm, Ole Miss LHP Ryan Rolison, Florida RHP Jackson Kowar, HS RHP Kumar Rocker, and HS RHP Cole Winn.

I have also included a list of my possible targets for the Competitive Balance Round who I will scout in the coming days.

McClanahan-awkward delivery with front leg extension but repeats it, good arm side run on FB, solid slider with hard break in on RH but command is still lacking, change is filthy, moves extremely similar to FB but with large velocity gap

Swaggerty-compact swing, few moving parts, drives to all fields, quick first step out of the box, line drive hitter when squared up, power potential but may sacrifice speed, looks like he can stay in center

Kelenic-projectable frame, compact swing combined with good vision results in solid contact to holes in the defense, cannon left arm. Makes throws from right to third look effortless, strong legs imply future power potential

Bart-strong set up and blocking, closed stance with power from arms, good athlete for catcher, quick pop, squares up solidly when makes contact, good movement behind the plate, quick reaction, if he centers it up it’s going somewhere

India-powerful swing with slight rear back, body shows power potential, good bat speed allows for hard contact to all fields, smooth in the field, does not commit to swing to early

Bohm-good athlete, fluid at third, loud bat, ball jumps off, quick and compacts swing creates hard contact, tall lanky build shoes potential for even more power, quick glove to hand

Rolison-high leg kick with consistent delivery, fastball touches 95, mid 80s curve with hard 11-5 break, strong change but thrown inconsistently, good cut on FB

Kowar-lanky build, hides ball well, hard FB on downhill plane, curve breaks strong away from RH, inconsistent delivery, when he misses he misses bad, good athlete, still provides future projection, better to hope he falls to 36

Rocker-intimidating monstrous presence, downhill power fastball with run, hard downward break on curve, athletic but repeatable delivery, quick to the plate from windup and stretch, curveball can float and get hit, wicked movement across the board, brings show me heat

Winn-good FB was quick armside run, curve drops off the radar when placed well, precise placement when he’s on, long step on delivery, athletic finisher who hits spots
