Good afternoon everyone and welcome to the Minor League Ball Gameday discussion thread for Thursday, May 4th, 2017. Let’s get down to business.

****Today’s Minor League Scoreboard

****Today’s MLB scoreboard

****Highlights from yesterday can be found in the Wednesday comments thread.

COOL STUFF THAT HAPPENED YESTERDAY

****Chicago White Sox prospect Yoan Moncada continued his tear through the Triple-A International League, going 3-for-4 for the Charlotte Knights. He’s now hitting .330/.406/.532.

****Milwaukee Brewers prospect Jake Gatewood went 2-for-2 with a home run and a walk for High-A Carolina, giving him a season line of .333/.436/.591. A supplemental first round pick in 2014, his career has been disappointing so far but that looks to have changed, thanks to eyeglasses to correct nearsightedness.

****Oakland Athletics prospect Tyler Marincov slammed three homers for Double-A Midland yesterday, giving him six bombs on the season along with a .291/.400/.593 slash line. He’s a bit old for Double-A at age 25 but he’s always shown power, including 19 homers combined last year between High-A and Double-A. He was originally drafted in the eighth round in 2013 from the University of North Florida.

****There was a second three-homer game yesterday, this one from Baltimore Orioles minor league outfielder Tucker Nathans. He went 4-for-5 with three bombs and five RBI. He’s 7-for-28 on the season. An organization player rather than a true prospect, Nathan is 28 years old and was signed by the Orioles as a free agent in 2013 out of the independent Can Am League.
