Discussing the future of the Athletics organization. . .how soon do they get to .500?

I am now working on the Arizona Diamondbacks Top 20 prospects for 2018 list. The next team in line is the Oakland Athletics, to be followed by the Washington Nationals, Cleveland Indians, San Diego Padres, Boston Red Sox, Cincinnati Reds, and the Seattle Mariners.

Use this thread to discuss the Oakland Athletics organization. Some possible points for discussion include, but are certainly not limited to:

****The A’s finished 75-87, fifth place in the American League Western Division. How soon can they get back to .500? Is that plausible for 2018?

****Matt Olson came up to the majors and mashed 24 homers in just 216 plate appearances along with a .259/.352/.651 slash line. He doesn’t turn 24 until March. Do you expect a sophomore slump? Is 2017 the best we get, does he hold steady, or can he actually improve?

****How many Gold Gloves does Matt Chapman win? Can his hitting improve to get anywhere close to the defense?

****I was a big fan of Jharel Cotton entering 2017. He was hit hard much of the time, with a 5.58 ERA in 128 innings. Can he get better?

****Your plans for Franklin Barreto?

****Your plans for A.J. Puk?

****Same question for trade acquisitions Jorge Mateo and Dustin Fowler.

****As always, feel free to discuss anything Athletics oriented as well as sharing your sleeper prospects.
