The MLB 2017 Post-Season continues this evening with the Colorado Rockies taking on the Arizona Diamondbacks in the National League Wild Card contest.
Yesterday we predicted that the Minnesota Twins would defeat the New York Yankees in a pitcher’s duel by a 3-2 score. Instead, both starters performed poorly but the Yankees bullpen proved the deciding factor in an 8-4 win. This makes our post-season prediction record 0-1.
For tonight, we’ll predict that the Diamondbacks come out of the gate hot and score runs early, giving Zack Greinke plenty of slack to work with. Arizona will defeat Colorado 7-1 behind a 103-pitch Greinke complete game with six strikeouts, one walk, and six hits. Jake Lamb will hit a home run, double, and single while driving in four but will fall a triple short of the cycle. The sole Rockies run will come from a solo shot by Carlos Gonzalez.
