Hello everyone. I hope all is well in all corners of the country (and even to you crazy cats up north). I'd like to take a minute to let you all know the schedule for us here at Minor League Ball.
John is hard at work with the Top 20 lists for each organization along with his work on the book (which is available for pre-order right this second here). The next list to be released will be the Baltimore Orioles featuring Dylan Bundy and Kevin Gausman. The rest of the queue looks like this:
- Milwaukee Brewers
- Houston Astros
- Arizona Diamondbacks
- Chicago White Sox
- Miami Marlins
- New York Yankees
- Los Angeles Dodgers
If you are unfamiliar with John's process, the first thing will be an Organization Discussion. Once he gets a list of names together he will post a Preliminary Prospect List. The final step before its released is the Preliminary Grade Breakdown.
In the meantime, I will be coming up with a few pieces on the draft and the international free agent market, along with my personal Top 20 lists that will be in the FanPosts.
- I will be looking at the top performances from the 2013 draft class.
- I will also do an update on the 2011 draft to see how things have shaped up three years later.
- Another article in the queue will be how the top international draft classes since 2007 have fared, using Baseball America's rankings to determine the top prospects each season.
Lee Warren will continue bringing some great stuff about the Pacific Coast League. Its a trip down memory lane every time he posts. Be sure to check out his most recent article about Jack Coppinger from Whitman College in Walla Walla, WA.
Matt Garrioch also has plenty of profiles coming for the upcoming 2014 draft. His most recent works have been on Conway, SC right hander Grant Holmes, Coral Spring, FL right hander Touki Toussaint, and Gainesville, GA outfielder Michael Gettys.
Also, do not forget to check out the great work KingBillyRoyal has been doing with the community prospect rankings over in the FanPosts section. We are already 40 prospects in with plenty of debates to come and plenty of top notch players available to vote for.
