***Good afternoon prospect watchers. I am hitting the "commit" button on my trip and will be leaving for Quad Cities in the morning. The weather forecast doesn't look too terrible and I should get at least one game in from the look of it and hopefully both. Cedar Rapids vs. Quad Cities. . .Buxton vs. Correa and a bunch of other very intriguing guys on both squads. It should be a blast.

***Yesterday's Minor League Ball Gameday thread.

***Tampa Bay Rays pitching prospect Jake Odorizzi threw seven hitless, scoreless innings for Triple-A Durham yesterday, combining for a no-hitter with relievers Frank De Los Santos, Kirby Yates, and Jeff Beliveau for 2-1 victory over Pawtucket. Odorizzi walked four and fanned three, giving him a composite 39/13 K/BB over 34 innings with a 2.65 ERA over six starts.

***New York Yankees prospect Dellin Betances threw five hitless innings for Triple-A Scranton, fanning three but walking four. He now has a 6.00 ERA in 24 innings with a 25/16 K/BB ratio. There's no real change in his status: still has lots of arm strength, but command problems and a lack of athleticism hamper him. I really think he's going to have to be a reliever.

***In contrast, St. Louis Cardinals prospect Tyrell Jenkins has athleticism in droves. He also threw a nine-inning complete game three-hit shutout for Low-A Peoria yesterday, fanning five and walking one. He needs to improve his start-to-start consistency but the talent that made him a supplemental first round pick is still there and he's only 20 years old.
