2012 Minor League Ball Community Mock Draft: Scouting Directors

Use this thread to volunteer for scouting director assignments. Please state your qualifications and level of interest, so that if two people put in for the same team at the same time i have something to make a decision by. This is first-come, first-serve generally speaking.

Remember, you MUST BE AVAILABLE FOR THE MOCK DRAFT at NOON CENTRAL TIME on SATURDAY May 26th.

If chosen as a scouting director, you should then post a MOCK ORGANIZATION DIARY in the fanpost section to start discussing your team's strategy. You should recruit an assistant/alternate to take over on draft day if you can't be there for some reason. You should conduct your MOD diaries in a fair manner, and I would prefer a collaborative approach rather than a dictatorial one in coming up with your draft lists and preferences.

You should assume realistic budgets for the team you are drafting for.

I didn’t realize it at the time, but we have a whole lotta picks: 7, 33, 44, 55, 68, 70, 102

MOD thread should be posted sometime this evening with some initial thoughts. We’ll discuss all the picks to some degree, but to keep the discussion manageable in the early going, I’d like to focus on the first three picks inside the top 50.This should make the building of the draft board that much easier over here. Looking forward to getting the ball rolling!

SF Giants, Please

I would be interested in Mocking for the Giants. Some of my qualifications include being an ravenous Giants fan and also being someone who is willing to include others in the draft process and talent evaluation. I am also pretty easy going and would be willing to collaborate with anyone. My only request would be that Fla-Giants, if available/interested, would be one of my co-scouting directors. (i respect Fla-Giants’ knowledge very much)

I would also be interested in the San Diego Padres as they are one of the other teams I follow closely and admire their farm system/FO.

Good deal

I directed this for the Giants last year, with help from gobroks and others, but I was hoping that we’d get some new blood to take the lead this year. Shank and Free were my 2 top suggestions (in no particular order). I’ll be happy to chip in with my thoughts and suggestions, and I should be around to provide backup on the actual day of the mock draft (I’m assuming we’re going with the Saturday (June 2nd) before the actual draft starts.

There are no apostrophes in plurals.
A lot is two words. Allot can be one word but it has another meaning.
The only time you really want to use "myself" is when you are the recipient of your own action. Usually you're better off using "me."
Your is not the correct contraction of you are. The word you're looking for is you're.
It's anyway, not anyways.
But if you only remember one thing...

Qualifications:

Did numerous mock drafts here at Minor League Ball, and have participated in a community mock draft in MLB Bonus Baby (picked for the Brewers), and in MLB Trade Rumors forum. I’d absolutely love it if I was to be the scouting director for the community mock draft for the Brewers.

It’s probably not going to be a problem (with only 9 openings left), but I volunteer to be an emergency draft director if you eventually need somebody to run the draft for a team that doesn’t end up with a volunteer. I don’t know the farm systems of the vast majority of the other 29 teams like I do the Giants, but I am very up-to-speed with the eligible draftees and the effects of the new CBA rules so I think I can do a very credible job.

play in multiple fantasy leagues with large farm systems( up to 20 deep in prospects)……live in harrisburg and was the senators official scorekeeper for 2 years……played in the royals system in 73-74 when ewing kauffman had the kansas city royal baseball academy……coach high school baseball and elite travel teams and scout players for these teams as well as giving pitching lessons woldog1@aol.com
