A good system, to be sure...I'd give it a B

Graduating Trout and Belt knocks it down a notch (though I suspect Trout will be back pretty soon).

You really could use some closer-to-the-majors pitching prospects - the few impact guys you do have (C-Mart, Harvey, Hutch) are nowhere near MLB-ready.

You also need some help up the middle (2B, SS) outside of Kipnis, though I realize that is easier said than done - SS/2B prospects haven’t exactly grown on trees in recent years.

How many roster spots does each team get? You have 24 guys listed, plus 3 grads, plus 8 picks…so 35 spots?

I have Starlin Castro at SS in my MLB team

no we have 25 spots, I forgot to add JD Martinez to this list

In the offseason, we can have as many prospects as we want, but we have to cut it down by the start of the next season

but my lineup next year could be legit

3B: Lawrie
OF: Holliday
OF: Trout
OF: Thames/Robinson/JD Martinez
U: Goldy

heres my pitching

Matt Garza, SP, CHC
Javy Guerra, RP, LAD
Jeremy Guthrie, SP, BAL
David Hernandez, RP, ARI
Craig Kimbrel, RP, ATL
Justin Masterson, SP, CLE
Jordan Walden, RP, ANA
Jason Hammel, SP, COL
Bud Norris, SP HOU
Bobby Parnell, RP, NYM
Felipe Paulino, SP, KC
Joel Pineiro, SP, ANA
Carlos Villanueva, SP, TOR
Jorge De La Rosa, SP, COL
David Aardsma, RP, SEA
AJ Burnett, SP, NYY

Ill probably drop the lesser guys like Piniero and Villanueva. Dont really have a true “ace” but a bunch of good starter and closers

Matt Harvey

Not sure if I would describe Harvey as “nowhere near MLB ready”… he’s pitching very well in AA and will probably make his major league debut sometime next season.

congrats

That’s a fantastic farm system. I don’t think that you can give it anything other than an A grade. You have at least ten top 100 guys. Moreover you have at least a hand full of others that will/could be top 100 by the end of the year. How many teams in your league?

by mathwonk on Jul 22, 2025 4:01 PM EDT via mobile reply actions

16 teams

theres one other team who might have a better one, hes got Harper, Myers, Jacob Turner, Casey Kelly, Matt Moore, Gary Sanchez, and Shelby Miller off the top of my head

Above avg minor league roster, definitely interested to see what the MLB roster looks like.

well, I posted my pitching above

My lineup is nothing exciting right now. Most of the guys are holding spots for the prospects to be called up. I do have Castro, Kipnis, Holliday, Belt and Trout in my lineup right now as far as longterm guys

Nice young everyday line-up, with a ton of promise. Seems as though your biggest problem is elite SP. You need some quality SP of the type the other club you mention has stashed away — Miller, Moore and Turner. Otherwise, you will be spinning your wheels down the road, even with the solid offense you have assembled.
