Good afternoon everyone and welcome to the Minor League Ball Gameday discussion thread for Thursday, June 28th, 2018. As the barbarians top the hills on their way to sack the city, we can at least distract ourselves with talk of the up-and-coming gladiator prospects.
****Yesterday’s Gameday discussion is here.
****Today’s Morning Report is here.
****Today’s minor league schedule and list of probable starters is here. A few big names stand out:
Blayne Enlow (Twins) is on the bump for Cedar Rapids
Jeff Brigham (Marlins) brings his 0.35 ERA to the mound for Jacksonville
Dillon Tate (Yankees) take the hill for Trenton
Max Fried (Braves) toes the rubber for Gwinnett
Stephen Gonsalves (Twins) is on the mound in Rochester
Bruce Zimmermann (Braves) makes his Double-A debut in Mississippi
DUEL OF THE DAY: Two top prospects take the mound in the minor league version of the big-league rivalry occurring on the big stage. Jalen Beeks (Red Sox) and Chance Adams (Yankees) go head-to-head in Scranton.
****Today’s MLB schedule and list of probable starters is here. David Hess pitches for Baltimore after two rookies did work yesterday against Seattle. Erick Fedde is pitching for the Nationals. Wilmer Font is the second rookie to start for Tampa in a row (Ryne Stanek yesterday). Sandy Alcantara makes his Marlins debut with the unlucky task of taking on Jacob deGrom. Andrew Suarez is on the mound for San Francisco to round out a busy day of young arms.
