Yesterday was Day Two of the 2018 Arizona Fall League and here are a few items worthy of your attention:

****Peoria beat Glendale 7-4 behind a 15-hit attack. Atlanta Braves prospect Cristian Pache and San Diego Padres prospect Buddy Reed each had three hits, while Milwaukee Brewers prospect Keston Hiura hit a grand-slam home run. Los Angeles Dodgers prospect Jared Walker hit a home run in the losing cause and fellow Angelino Ben Holmes threw three shutout innings with four strikeouts.

****Scottsdale defeated Mesa 10-3 with New York Mets prospects Peter Alonso and Andres Gimenez each contributing a home run. Teammate Ronnie Dawson of the Houston Astros system went 3-for-5 and Philadelphia Phillies pharmhand Seth McGarry struck out four over two innings of relief work.

****Surprise nipped Salt River 11-9 thanks to 18 hits including a home run from Pittsburgh Pirates prospect Will Craig and a 3-for-4 effort with two doubles from Toronto Blue Jays phenom Vladimir Guerrero Jr.. Texas Rangers prospect Charles Leblanc went 4-for-5. Minnesota Twins prospect Devin Smeltzer, a sleeper worth tracking, threw two scoreless relief innings in the losing cause.
