Good afternoon everyone. Nick is busy today and doesn't have time for his normal Gameday missive, but everything will be back to normal tomorrow. I am having internet connectivity problems myself with a balky broadband connection, but I assume the good folks at AT&T; will resolve this shortly.

Some quick items:

***I have designated Nick as the official Gameday discussion moderator. His job will be to keep the discussion away from personal issues between posters, keeping it on track and focused on prospects. He is authorized to get out the Hammer if necessary.

***The Arizona Diamondbacks promoted third base prospect Jake Lamb to Triple-A this weekend and he's off to a good start for Reno, hitting his first Pacific Coast League home run as part of a three-hit game Saturday evening.

***Chicago Cubs prospect C.J. Edwards is back in action for Double-A Tennessee, fanning five in 3.1 innings last night in his first start back from shoulder trouble.

***Tampa Bay Rays prospect Blake Snell threw 5.1 innings of no-hit baseball in a rain-shortened outing for High-A Charlotte yesterday.

***Ten strikeouts yesterday from Boston Red Sox prospect Matt Barnes in seven shutout innings for Triple-A Pawtucket. He hasn't had a great year (4.45 ERA, 75/33 K/BB in 93 innings, 95 hits) so maybe this is a step forward for him.
