Dinasty fantasy baseball advice

I have received an offer in my keeper league and I am doubtful if I should pull the trigger. I receive Matt Cain and Jarrod Parker and I give Shelby Miller and Trevor Bauer. My offensive is very good but my pitching is average and a solid starter like Cain would help me a lot. What would you do?

Miller Bauer, both will be better than Cain

I'm of the same opinion.

Its still damn close, though. Too close to make this trade… its a challenge trade. If the guys you were giving up were in A ball I could maybe understand cashing them in for Cain… but Miller and Bauer might be Fantasy Aces as soon as the middle of 2012. Pass.

Assuming this doesn't help you this year?

I would pass. While Miller/Bauer might be better then Cain/Parker eventually, Cain IS better now. BUT Miller will probably go into next season as the top pitching prospect, and combined with Bauer I think you can aim higher for an established starter just on hype.

Miller

Miller is very good, but he will not go into next season as the top pitching prospect. The highest I can see him finishing is as the 3rd best pitching prospect. Matt Moore will easily be the #1 pitching prospect going into next season… hands down. I also see Teheran being ranked over Miller as well. Plus Miller’s off the field issues that ultimately led to him being suspended and sent home by the team will almost certainly play a factor into his ranking, which should not benefit him.

re

It’s one thing if he was just drinking, that’s no big deal and it happens with just about every single MLB team…. but this has apparently been a problem for a while and obviously was enough of a problem for the team to suspend him and send him home. I recall Hamels having some drinking issues when he was in the minors with the phillies, but he was never suspended. So I’m not saying that him drinking was per say the major issue, rather that there is other things going on here that the cardinals found it necessary to suspend him and send him home for the season….

a team with a manager who gets a dui

cause he fell asleep at the wheel would probably be a bit stricter, its not like x amount of drinks is a suspension across all teams… its still just alcohol, lincecum smokes pot and he’s fine

My advice would be...

To learn how to spell Dynasty.

And I’d keep Miller and Bauer and just buy low on some less than sexy but solid starters.

I think

the major MLB SP would need to be better than Cain to pull this one off.

Miller and Bauer are so close to MLB ready that I’d need a top 10 MLB SP involved.
