2011 College World Series Day Five Discussion Thread

This evening's 7 PM EDT College World Series matchup pits North Carolina against Vanderbilt.

People want predictions it seems, so I will predict that we will see a repeat of the Game One outcome and that the Commodores defeat the Tar Heels 4-2.

You're gitting the hang of this thing, John

5-1 Vandy - you just needed to shift 1 run from UNC to Vandy. UNC just choked with RISP in this CWS. If they could have just been able to get a few key hits in their games they could easily be sitting where Fla is right now.

So this will go down as the year of the SEC East? They’re now guaranteed to get at least 1 team in the final, and I have a hard time believing that either UVa or Cal can beat USC on back-to-back days with a pitching staff that would be playing 3 games in 3 days. It looks to me like an all-SEC East final.

Keep an eye on my son, Jake "The Jacksonville Rifle" Dunning. From SS to the mound - exclusively toeing the rubber since March 2010.

Don't count out UVa

I have S Carolina advancing to the finals, but you can never count out UVa. They’re an extremely talented team without a real weakness.
