Some thoughts for today.
*I just finished writing a piece for Rotowire about Cameron Maybin. His numbers this year are certainly very good and given his youth and athleticism he's an outstanding prospect. . .HOWEVER a lot of stathead types are worried about his ground ball tendencies and overperformance in BABIP. What do you guys think? I think it might be nitpicking given how young he is. I can see it inhibiting his home run development, maybe being "just" a 20-25 homer guy down the line, maybe hitting into too many double plays (ala Jim Rice) as he gets older and loses his speed, but I don't see it as a big enough issue to downplay his status significantly. What do you guys think?
*Would you be willing to bet $100 right now that Adam Miller will have Tommy John surgery by this time in 2008?
