More Community Projections

Jose Lopez

Projection: 151 games, 586 at-bats, 165 hits, .282, 32 doubles, 5 triples, 17 homers, 78 RBI, 35 walks, 86 strikeouts, 7 steals.

Result: 149 games, 524 at-bats, 132 hits, .252, 17 doubles, 2 triples, 11 homers, 62 RBI, 20 walks, 64 strikeouts, 2 steals.

Comparison: The community was expecting some growth and power development, but instead he backslid. Maybe the community was a year early? He will be just 24 years old in 2008.

Andy Marte

Projection: 137 games, 495 at-bats, 129 hits, .260, 29 doubles, 2 triples, 21 homers, 72 RBI, 51 walks, 111 strikeouts, 2 steals.

Result: 20 games, 57 at-bats, 11 hits, 4 doubles, 0 triples, 1 homer, 8 RBI, 2 walks, 9 strikeouts, 0 steals.

Comparison: He hit .267/.309/.457 for Buffalo, which is about .230/.275/.410 in the majors. Is it time to give up on him as a prospect? He just turned 24 and hasn't shown any skill growth in some time. Was this a guy who just peaked really really early?

Carlos Quentin

Projection: 142 games, 485 at-bats, 139 hits, .286, 31 doubles, 3 triples, 21 homers, 79 RBI, 64 walks, 81 strikeouts, 5 steals.

Results: 81 games, 229 at-bats, 49 hits, .214, 16 doubles, 0 triples, 5 homers, 31 RBI, 18 walks, 54 strikeouts, 2 steals.

Comparison: Injuries an issue here but what happened to his plate discipline?? I still like him but is a change of scenery necessary?

Kevin Kouzmanoff

Projection: 130 games, 453 at-bats, 127 hits, .280, 27 doubles, 1 triple, 15 homers, 63 RBI, 39 walks, 82 strikeouts, 2 steals.

Results: 145 games, 484 at-bats, 133 hits, .275, 30 doubles, 2 triples, 18 homers, 74 RBI, 32 walks, 94 strikeouts, 1 steal.

Comparison: That's a great projection.
