There is some disgruntlement in the diary section about the Crystal Ball feature.

The point of the Crystal Ball is to take an educated guess about what a prospect's career might look like based on what we know about him currently. It is NOT a straight prediction, but rather a guide looking at one possible outcome.
I don't just slap numbers on a page with these, I try to make them look as realistic as possible. approximating along a reasonable career performance curve.

A lot of people seem to think that I am dissing Matt Cain, which couldn't be farther from the truth. The Crystal Ball shows a 20-win season, and a long career, but some injury problems and erraticness. That is probably the mid-point of what we can expect from Cain. He could be a lot better than that...and there is a damn good chance that he will be a lot worse, since he IS a pitching prospect after all.

I will continue the Crystal Balls that I have listed on the schedule. After that I'm not sure. There is a poll in the comments section for you to weigh in.
