Open discussion thread for Friday and Saturday, April 29-30.

If you are looking for a topic to consider, try this one. Padres prospect Josh Barfield is hitting .235/.312/.368 in 18 games for Triple-A Portland, striking out 22 times. Yes, yes, the sample is small. But Barfield didn't hit particularly well last year in Double-A, and while he retains bat speed, his plate discipline and contact ability remain questionable. Barfield is still only 22 and has lots of development time left.

My question is this: will Josh Barfield become an above-average or better Major League hitter in the future? Or will he be a disappointment, or worse, a complete bust?

You make the call.
