John's Current Favorite Minor League Pitching Prospect: Chuck James

Chuck James of the Braves is my current favorite pitching prospect. That doesn't mean I think he's the best, rather he is just my favorite.

Pitching at three levels this year, James went a combined 13-7, 2.12 in 29 starts, with a 193/36 K/BB ratio in 161 innings, allowing just 103 hits. His batting-average-against was a mere .179. That's terrific performance from anyone, but keep in mind that James does NOT have a blazing fastball, working at 90 MPH on a good day. Despite the lack of plus velocity, he has the K/IP and H/IP ratios of a power pitcher, and he's maintained them against good competition.
