2018 Arizona Fall League morning report: October 19

Good morning everyone and welcome to the Minor League Ball 2018 Arizona Fall League morning report for Friday, October 19th, 2018. Here’s what happened yesterday in the AFL.

****Mesa clobbered Surprise 18-2. Three different Solar Sox batters hit three-run homers: Skye Bolt (Oakland Athletics), Bobby Dalbec (Boston Red Sox), and P.J. Higgins (Chicago Cubs) while Los Angeles Dodgers prospect Jahmai Jones went 3-for-5. Most of the damage came against Toronto Blue Jays prospect Nate Pearson, who gave up eight hits, four walks, and seven runs in the second round.

****Scottsdale shut down Peoria 8-0. Houston Astros prospect J.B. Bukauskas threw four shutout innings for the victors, giving up two hits and a walk while striking out four.

****Salt River nipped Glendale 2-1. Arizona Diamondbacks prospect Jon Duplantier fired three shutout innings, walking no one with just one hit allowed while whiffing five.
