Did you know. . .

***Cubs prospect Kris Bryant hit his 38th homer yesterday. The Cubs really need to leave him in the minors for at least another week because I am hoping to get back up to Des Moines.

***Astros prospect Colin Moran is hitting .281/.343/.438 in his first eight games for Double-A Corpus Christi following the trade with the Marlins. He hit his first homer yesterday.

***White Sox outfield prospect Jared Mitchell hit an inside-the-park home run yesterday for Triple-A Charlotte, thanks to his own speed and a misplay by Pawtucket center fielder Mookie Betts.

Mitchell began the year with Charlotte but did not hit well and was sent back to Double-A Birmingham in June, where he hit .299/.367/.561 in 39 games. For Charlotte he has a .198/.338/.346 mark in 59 games though he's combined for 16 homers on the season.

Mitchell's long-standing problem with contact has dampened his prospect status to the point where most people have forgotten about him, but I wonder if a change of scenery would help. I'd love to see if another organization can do something the White Sox haven't been able to do.
