Strongly built at 6'1, 195, Boldt looks the part of a first round pick. Boldt has an above average arm for a center fielder and has the speed to cover a lot of ground out there. He could be a plus defender up the middle and has the arm for right field if needed. His speed could be a 70 if you wanted to be aggressive with it and it is truly an asset.
At the plate, Boldt needs a little refinement with his swing but there is a lot of potential there. He is more of a slasher than a power hitter but he keeps the bat in the zone for a long time and hits the ball hard. He will likely hit a lot of extra base hits thanks to line drives and his speed. Over time, he should be able to grow into a little more home run power but that really isn't his game and doesn't need to be. He is an exciting player.
Boldt is a projectable center fielder with a good bat and developing power that has a weapon for an arm and legs that can cover a lot of ground. He projects as a late first round or supplemental pick unless something unforeseen happens. Coming from Minnesota, there is always chance of injury playing in the cold spring but the future potential is great. Signability concerns are unclear at this time. He is committed to Nebraska, who is coached by a somewhat similar player in Darin Erstad.
