Good morning everyone and welcome to the Minor League Ball Morning Report for Monday, July 2nd, 2018.

***Yesterday’s Gameday discussion thread has plenty of highlights.

***Brad Keller took the loss for the Kansas City Royals yesterday against the Seattle Mariners but he pitched quite well, going eight innings, allowing six hits and zero walks, giving up and run but fanning three. Overall he now has a 2.09 ERA in 56 innings with a 33/18 K/BB.

***Milwaukee Brewers rookie Freddy Peralta was finally human, giving up three runs over five innings against the Cincinnati Reds, walking three with five hits allowed while fanning five.

***Rookie outfielder Austin Meadows went 2-for-5 for the Pittsburgh Pirates and is now hitting .317/.353/.532 in his first 126 major league at-bats.

***Houston Astros first round pick Seth Beer went 4-for-5 for Low-A Quad Cities. He’s played 15 games so far between short-season Tri-City in the New York-Penn League and the QC River Bandits in the Midwest League, hitting .328/.435/.603 with seven walks and 12 strikeouts in 58 at-bats.

***San Diego Padres prospect Fernando Tatis Jr went 3-for-4 with a pair of home runs for Double-A San Antonio. He’s hitting .285/.359/.511 overall with 20 doubles and 14 homers, also stealing 13 bases. He also has a solid .969 fielding percentage at shortstop.
