Good day everyone and welcome to the Minor League Ball Morning Report for Tuesday, June 12th, 2018. Here’s some stuff that happened on Monday.
****Los Angeles Angels prospect Matt Thaiss went 4-for-5 with two runs scored for Triple-A Salt Lake, raising his slash line to .338/.376/.600 in 18 games since being promoted to the Pacific Coast League.
****Oakland Athletics prospect Jesus Luzardo threw five strong innings for Double-A Midland, giving up three hits, zero walks, and zero runs while fanning eight.
****In major league action, St. Louis Cardinals rookie Jack Flaherty had another good outing, giving up three hits, one walk, and one earned run while striking out six San Diego Padres. He now has a 2.96 ERA in 45.2 innings with a 48/11 K/BB.
****Padres prospect Fernando Tatis Jr continues his recent tear through the Double-A Texas League, going 2-for-3 with two walks for San Antonio. He’s up to .282/.360/.516 with 11 homers and has made just six errors while playing every day at shortstop.
****New York Yankees prospect Deivi Garcia threw five innings for Low-A Charleston, giving up for hits and two runs but striking out 10.
