Good morning everyone and welcome to the Minor League Ball Morning Report for Tuesday, May 15th, 2018. Let’s get started.
*****St. Louis Cardinals prospect Tyler O’Neill hit two home runs for the Memphis Redbirds yesterday. And he hit a home run in each of the proceeding games against Nashville. Overall on the season he’s hitting .333/.342/.752 with 13 bombs.
*****Fellow Cardinals prospect Alex Reyes made his second rehab outing from Tommy John surgery and performed well for Low-A Peoria, throwing five shutout innings with two hits, one walk, with 12 strikeouts.
*****Los Angeles Angels affiliate Double-A Mobile threw their second combined no-hitter of the season. This time it was starter Griffin Canning followed up by relievers Greg Mahle, Adrian Almeida, and Ryan Clark to shut the door on Birmingham.
*****New York Yankees prospect Dillon Tate threw six shutout innings for Double-A Trenton, giving up three hits and four walks while striking out six.
*****Oakland Athletics right-hander Frankie Montas gave up just two runs over eight innings for Nashville against Memphis.
*****Minnesota Twins prospect Brusdar Graterol threw 5.2 shutout innings for Low-A Cedar Rapids, giving up two hits and one walk, while fanning 10 and reportedly hitting 100-101 MPH.
