Good morning everyone and welcome to the Minor League Ball Morning Report for Sunday, April 29th, 2018. Here’s your morning walk around the minors.
****It wasn’t the prettiest of stat lines, but Griffin Canning, Matt Custred and Ryan Clark combined for a no hitter for the Mobile BayBears. The three pitchers combined for seven walks (six by Canning) and just four strikeouts.
****The well-traveled Jorge Guzman made his debut in the Marlins system. He hurled four innings for Jupiter, allowing no runs, walking three and striking out seven.
****Kolby Allard looked sharp yesterday in Gwinnett. The young lefty went 6.1 innings, striking out five and walking one.
*****Adam Plutko was perfect through 7.2 innings pitched. He struck out six before getting pulled with 95 pitches, 64 of which were strikes. Neil Ramirez came in and allowed a double to his first batter ruining the chance of a combined no-no.
***** Vladimir Guerrero, Jr. extended his hit streak to six games with a 3-for-4 night. He drove in two, walked once and didn’t strikeout. In fact, the Blue Jays top prospect has struck out three times during his hit streak.
***** Eloy Jimenez left the yard. The White Sox top prospect drove in four on a big night.
