Good morning everyone and welcome to the Minor League Ball Morning Report for Friday, April 13th, 2018.
****San Diego Padres prospect Josh Naylor went 3-for-4 with two homers for Double-A San Antonio. He’s hitting .464/.484/1.036 in his first seven games with five home runs.
****Atlanta Braves third base prospect Austin Riley hit two dingers for Double-A Mississippi, driving in five. He’s at .346/.414/.692 through seven contests.
****Starting pitcher Bryce Conley and relievers Ty Damron and Josh Reagan combined for a no-hitter for the Beloit Snappers in Low-A Midwest League action. The Oakland Athletics drafted Conley in the 22nd round in 2017 from Georgia State University. Damron is out of Texas Tech, a 15th round pick in 2016, while Reagan was a 15th rounder in 2017 from the University of South Carolina. All three are “need to see at higher levels” type prospects.
****Minnesota Twins prospect and 2017 first-overall pick Royce Lewis went 2-for-5 with his first homer of the season for Low-A Cedar Rapids. He’s 5-for-20 with four walks and a stolen base through five games. Teammate and 2016 Twins first-rounder Alex Kirilloff is 8-for-27 (.296) with two homers so far.
