Minor League Ball Morning Report: Thursday, April 12, 2018

Highlights and recommended reading for today

MLB: Atlanta Braves at Washington Nationals Tommy Gilligan-USA TODAY Sports

Happy Thursday, everyone. I’m stepping in for our heralded leader John Sickels, so this will be an abbreviated version of your morning walk through the minors.

I was in Rome yesterday for Jasseel De La Cruz’s second start. Here were my takeaways.

Here’s a quick rundown by Minor League Ball’s long-time friend Sparhawk over at Talking Chop of all of the Braves minor league doings yesterday.

Chance Adams got back on track for Scranton/Wilkes-Barre last night. Here’s the report from Pinstripe Alley.

One of my personal favorites, Alex Kirilloff (and you have to deal with it since I’m writing today!) blasted his first two home runs of the season yesterday, driving in six.

Jesus Luzardo struck out 10 last night as his prospect continues to rise.

Dane Dunning’s hot start continues with his second-straight eight-strikeout performance.

Luis Urias had an answer for his season-opening, four-game hit streak coming to an end. He had three hits including his first homer of the season.

Vladimir Guerrero, Jr. and Bo Bichette continued to hit. Their absurd starts keep rolling.
