Good day everyone and welcome to the Minor League Ball Gameday discussion thread for Sunday, March 25th, 2018. Today is the last official day of spring training.

With the season about to start, we will be quite busy here at Minor League Ball in the coming days. In the queue right now are “Don’t overlook these prospects” articles for the remaining four divisions. I hope to have that completed on Monday, Tuesday at the latest.

We will also have a similar series of articles on deep sleepers and breakthrough candidates, and of course we will be profiling major league rookies and prospects all season. And we’ll get our 2018 MLB Draft coverage going in earnest by the end of this week!

Like I said, it’s gonna get busy!

The Shohei Ohtani situation got me and Clinton Riddle thinking about two-way players in baseball’s past. He wrote up Jack Bentley back in December and we posted the first of a two-part article on Rube Bressler this morning. Both articles are well worth your time if you have any interest at all in baseball history.

Let’s just say that player development was much different a century ago!
