Let’s talk about the future of the Giants

I am now working on the Tampa Bay Rays Top 20 prospects list for 2018. The next team in line is the San Francisco Giants, to be followed by the Detroit Tigers, the Philadelphia Phillies, the Toronto Blue Jays, and finally the St. Louis Cardinals to finish the process.

Use this thread to discuss the Giants organization. Possible topics for consideration include, but are certainly not limited to:

****The Giants finished 64-98 in 2017, fifth place in the National League Western Division and perilously close to the ignominious 100-loss barrier. What are your realistic expectations for 2018? Can they get back close to .500?

****Put another way, does adding Andrew McCutchen and Evan Longoria push them back up the ladder in a sustainable way, or is a complete rebuild necessary?

****Rookie right-hander Chris Stratton was one of the brighter spots in the Bay last year, pitching like a solid mid-rotation starter. What do you you expect from him? Any chance he can improve beyond that?

****What do you think of Austin Slater?

****As always, feel free to discuss sleeper prospects or anything else Giants-oriented.
