Another Arizona Fall League season has come to an end. The Peoria Javelinas were the best team from start to finish, racking up 22 wins, that last victory coming on a walk off home run from the Atlanta Braves Braxton Davidson to win the championship 3-2 over Salt River.
The Rafters Jordan Yamamoto (Miami Marlins) had an interesting start. He went four, two-hit, shutout innings, striking out six. But he also walked five batters. His counterpart, Peoria’s Miguel Diaz (San Diego Padres) wasn’t as sharp, allowing the only Rafters runs to score in his 3.2 innings pitched (albeit only one was earned). The Braves hulking 6’9” lefty Adam McCreery picked up the win with his fourth-straight shutout appearance of the fall.
Davidson, who had a nice fall in the power department, blew up social media, first with the bomb, then with the bat flip, and then with being carried off the field, seemingly breaking his foot jumping to celebrate the home run.

A walk-off bat flip as nice as the pitcher's jersey number. @MLBazFallLeague | @Braves | @Braxdavidson pic.twitter.com/AfFoEf63aG

The @MLBazFallLeague championship game finished in wild fashion with #Braves' Braxton Davidson launching a walk-off homer in the 10th and then having to be carried off the field after he injured himself as he approached the plate: https://t.co/mjjCOSuQTr pic.twitter.com/bN2h36jhFD

The bizarre career of Davidson would only be fitting if he is moved this offseason and that was his final at bat in a Braves uniform. But alas, the season is over, Peoria is your champs.
- Here are your final batting leaders.
- And final pitching leaders.
- And a look at the championship rosters of Peoria and Salt River.
So, who left a mark on you this fall? Who is your MVP? What else stood out?
Here were just a few of the names repeated throughout the season in our AFL morning discussions. Thoughts on these guys?
- Nico Hoerner (Chicago Cubs)
- Cristian Pache (Atlanta Braves)
- Luis Robert (Chicago White Sox)
- Kyle Muller (Atlanta Braves)
- Forrest Whitley (Houston Astros)
- Keston Hiura (Milwaukee Brewers)
- Monte Harrison (Miami Marlins)
Next up are the winter meetings. Get ready Minor League Ball, we’re just getting started in our “offseason”.
