Good morning everyone. Here’s the Arizona Fall League morning roundup for Friday, November 16th. Yesterday was the last day of the regular AFL season and the championship game is tomorrow. Here’s what happened on Thursday:
****Glendale defeated visiting Salt River 4-2. Arizona Diamondbacks prospect Jazz Chisholm went 2-for-3 in the losing cause, raising his average to .442, while Baltimore Orioles prospect Martin Cervenka had two hits for the Desert Dogs.
****Peoria beat visiting Scottsdale 2-1. Scottsdale starter and Houston Astros prospect Forrest Whitley was outstanding, throwing five shutout innings with nine strikeouts. Tampa Bay Rays prospect Matt Krook threw three shutout innings for the Javelinas with five strikeouts.
****Mesa outslugged Surprise 11-10. Pittsburgh Pirates prospect Will Craig hit a three-run homer for the Saguaros, while Boston Red Sox prospect Bobby Dalbec contributed a two-run blast for the Solar Sox. Detroit Tigers prospect Daz Cameron went 3-for-5 and Oakland Athletics prospect Skye Bolt went 2-for-2 with three walks and three runs scored as part of the Mesa attack.
