Sunday is always a day of rest in the Arizona Fall League. It’s the perfect time to get caught up in yesterday’s action.

*** Glendale 7, Mesa 6

Dodgers first baseman Jared Walker led the charge for the Desert Dogs, going 2-for-3 with his second home run of the fall with three RBI. A couple of Oakland minor leaguers had big days for the Solar Sox as shortstop Eli White and right fielder Luis Barrera both recorded three hits.

*** Peoria 11, Salt River 5

Get a load of this. Keston Hiura had a big day going 2-for-5 with his fourth home run of the off season and five RBI, further making his bid for the MVP. The young Braves combined for nice days as well. Christian Pache went 2-for-5, Izzy Wilson scored two runs and had an RBI, while Ray-Patrick Didder had two stolen bases and three runs scored. Carter Keiboom recorded three hits for the Rafters. The Brewers Bubba Derby tossed four scoreless for the win.

*** Surprise 4, Scottsdale 0

Forrest Whitley struck out four more and walked none over five, but the Scorpions couldn’t give him any run support. The Cardinals Evan Kruczynski had a solid start, striking out five and picking up his second win while lowering his ERA to 1.72 in Arizona. The Royals Nick Heath went 4-for-4 out of the leadoff spot, scoring two runs and raising his average to .417.

As we said, no games today, so we will return Tuesday with your morning rundown.
