Good morning everyone and welcome to the Arizona Fall League Morning Roundup for Wednesday, October 10th, 2018.

The 2018 Arizona Fall League began with a bang yesterday. Some highlights:

****Houston Astros pitching prospect Forrest Whitley threw 3.1 strong innings for the Scottsdale Scorpions including striking out the first seven batters he faced.

****Toronto Blue Jays third base prospect Vladimir Guerrero Jr. went 3-for-5 for the Surprise Saguaros with two doubles and three runs batted in. It’s fun to see the top hitting prospect in baseball (and the possibly the top pitching prospect in Whitley) both having promising initial outings.

****Pittsburgh Pirates prospect Cole Tucker went 2-for-4 with three runs scored for Surprise. Teammate Meibrys Viloria, a catcher from the Kansas City Royals system, went 3-for-4.

****New York Mets prospect Peter Alonso went 2-for-4 with two RBI for the Scottsdale Scorpions.

****The only home run of the day was hit by Oakland Athletics prospect Luis Barrera for the Mesa Solar Sox.
