I am now working on the Pittsburgh Pirates Top 20 prospects for 2018 list. The next team in line is the Los Angeles Angels, to be followed by the Colorado Rockies, Chicago White Sox, New York Mets, Texas Rangers, Milwaukee Brewers, Tampa Bay Rays, San Francisco Giants, and the Detroit Tigers.
Use this thread to discuss the Los Angeles Angels organization. Possible points for discussion include, but are certainly not limited to:
****The Angels finished 80-82 in 2017, second place in the American League Western Division. What do you expect for 2018? Another .500ish finish? Can they get closer to 90 wins or will they fall back into the 70s?
****How disappointed would you be if Shohei Ohtani is just pretty good rather than super-duper good? Also, do you think he should be the number one prospect in all of baseball?
****How satisfied are you with progress made rebuilding the farm system?
****Keynan Middleton was a solid bullpen rookie, posting a 3.86 ERA in 58 innings with a 63/18 K/BB. Is there any reason to think he can be something more than just a decent middle reliever?
****Reliever Eduardo Paredes was the youngest player on the major league roster last year. Same question for him as Middleton: anything more than a middle man?
****As always, feel free to discuss sleeper prospects or anything else Angels-oriented.
