I am now working on the Miami Marlins Top 20 prospects list for 2018. The next team in line is the Baltimore Orioles, to be followed by the Pittsburgh Pirates, Los Angeles Angels, Colorado Rockies, Chicago White Sox, New York Mets, Texas Rangers, and the Milwaukee Brewers.
Use this thread to discuss the Baltimore Orioles system. Possible points for discussion include, but are certainly not limited to:
****The Orioles finished 75-87 in 2017, fifth place in the American League Eastern Division. Is there any reason to be optimistic for 2018? Can they get back over .500 or better? Or would you advise a complete tear-down?
****Trey Mancini had a very successful rookie season, hitting .293/.338/.488. That’s a great start to his career. Can he improve on that?
****Between the Orioles and the Tampa Bay Rays, Tim Beckham hit .278/.328/.454 with 22 homers, 36 walks, and 167 strikeouts. He was 27 years old. Was that his career year?
****Can Dylan Bundy develop into a truce ace? Will he futz around like Chris Tillman? Or will he turn into Jake Arrieta after being traded to another system?
****Your plans for Chance Sisco? How should he be handled?
****Same question for Ryan Mountcastle.
****Do you trust the breakout of Austin Hays?
****As always, feel free to discuss sleepers or anything else Orioles-oriented.
