Good afternoon everyone and welcome to the Minor League Ball Gameday discussion thread for Tuesday, September 5th, 2017.

The minor league regular season is complete and the playoffs begin tomorrow. Gameday will continue to run through the minor league playoffs, MLB regular season, and into the Arizona Fall League.

COOL STUFF THAT HAPPENED YESTERDAY

****Houston Astros prospect Kyle Tucker went 2-for-4 for Double-A Corpus Christi, hitting his 25th home run of the season. Fellow Houston prospect A.J. Reed went 3-for-5 with a home run for Triple-A Fresno, giving him 34 homers on the season, leading all minor league players in homers this year.

****Philadelphia Phillies prospect J.P. Crawford went 1-for-3 with a home run for Triple-A Lehigh Valley, finishing the season with a .243/.351/.405 line. He collected 15 homers and 79 walks along with 97 strikeouts in 474 at-bats and was promoted to the major league roster after the game.

****Colorado Rockies outfield prospect Sam Hilliard went 2-for-5 with two homers for High-A Lancaster, finishing the campaign with a .300/.360/.487 line, hitting 21 homers and stealing 37 bases.

****Oakland Athletics prospect Jorge Mateo went 3-for-5 with two homers for Double-A Midland. Overall he hit .292/.333/.518 in 30 games for the Rockhounds after coming over from the New York Yankees in the Sonny Gray trade.
