PLAYER UPDATES

****St. Louis Cardinals rookie Luke Weaver threw five solid innings against the Cincinnati Reds, giving up two runs on five hits, with zero walks and seven strikeouts on the docket. In 52.2 innings in the majors this year he has a 2.05 ERA with a spectacular 65/11 K/BB.

****Yoan Moncada of the Chicago White Sox has picked up the hitting lately, hitting a home run yesterday against the Houston Astros and hitting .400 with three bombs in his last 10 games.

****San Diego Padres rookie Manny Margot went 2-for-3 with two walks against the Arizona Diamondbacks, adding a stolen base.
