Good afternoon everyone and welcome to the Minor League Ball Gameday discussion thread for Thursday, September 14th, 2017. Here you go.
****Today’s Minor League Scoreboard
****Yesterday’s prospect talk can be found in the Wednesday discussion thread.
****Analysis of all the deadline trades involving prospects can be found here.
COOL STUFF THAT HAPPENED YESTERDAY
****Oakland Athletics rookie Matt Olson went 1-for-2 with a home run and a walk against the Boston Red Sox. Amidst the terror of Phillies rookie Rhys Hoskins and the remarkable run of the Cleveland Indians, Olson has been a bit overlooked but he’s hitting .343 with six homers in his last 10 games and stands at .273/.364/.636 overall with 18 homers over 154 at-bats.
****New York Yankees prospect Domingo German threw seven shutout innings for Triple-A Scranton in the International League finals against Durham, fanning eight with just one hit and three walks allowed.
****This has been a fun week for Tampa Bay Rays 2017 first-round pick Brendan McKay. On Tuesday he allowed only one hit over five innings to lead the Hudson Valley Renegades to a New York-Penn League Game One finals victory over Vermont, then yesterday he hit a walk-off sacrifice fly to win Game Two.
