COOL STUFF THAT HAPPENED YESTERDAY

****Cleveland Indians rookie Yandy Diaz went 2-for-5 with a pair of runs scored against the Detroit Tigers and is hitting .313 in the majors since September 1st.

****San Diego Padres prospect Michel Baez threw five shutout innings in the Midwest League playoffs for Fort Wayne, giving up two hits and one walk while fanning seven. He’s pitched 12 innings in the post-season without giving up a run.

****Oakland Athletics prospect Jesus Luzardo threw five shutout innings for the Vermont Lake Monsters in the New York-Penn League playoffs, with one hit, one walk, and five strikeouts. Teammate Logan Farrar went 2-for-4. Farrar was a 36th round pick as a senior out of Virginia Commonwealth University this year but hit .341/.413/.495 in his pro debut and has enough talent to bear watching at higher levels.
