COOL STUFF THAT HAPPENED WEDNESDAY AND THURSDAY

****St. Louis Cardinals rookie Luke Weaver had an excellent start against the San Diego Padres on Wednesday, throwing seven shutout innings on three hits and a walk, fanning 10. In 23 major league innings this year he has a 2.31 ERA, a 26/8 K/BB, and has allowed only 17 hits.

****Pittsburgh Pirates outfield prospect Austin Meadows went 3-for-5 for Triple-A Indianapolis on Wednesday, then followed up with a 2-for-4 outing on Thursday, both games against Louisville.

****San Diego Padres outfield prospect Jorge Ona went 3-for-7 with a pair of home runs in a doubleheader for Fort Wayne on the Midwest League on Wednesday.

****Chicago White Sox 2017 first round pick Jake Burger went 5-for-5 with a home run and three RBI for Low-A Kannapolis in South Atlantic League action against Greensboro yesterday.

****Los Angeles Angels prospect Jordan Zimmerman went 6-for-7 with a home run, three RBI, and five runs scored yesterday for Inland Empire in the High-A California League against Lancaster.
