COOL STUFF THAT HAPPENED YESTERDAY
****St. Louis Cardinals rookie Paul DeJong went 1-for-3 with a home run in his second consecutive game against the Pittsburgh Pirates. He’s now hitting .305/.336/.591 with 20 homers in 269 major league at-bats.
****Fellow Cardinal Eliezer Alvarez went 3-for-4 four Double-A Springfield, driving in six.
****Toronto Blue Jays prospect Reese McGuire went 2-for-2 with a home run and two walks for Double-A New Hampshire. He’s homered in three consecutive games now. Although he’s missed most of the season with injuries, since returning to action he’s hitting .286/.374/.545 in 77 at-bats for the Fisher Cats.
****Fellow Blue Jay Vladimir Guerrero Jr. went 2-for-4 for High-A Dunedin with a home run. He’s homered in three consecutive games now and is hitting .328/.445/.488 in 125 at-bats since being promoted from Low-A.
****Milwaukee Brewers outfield prospect Monte Harrison went 3-for-5 for High-A Carolina. He’s been very hot lately, hitting .350 in his last 10 games and currently on an 11-for-20 streak in his last four games. Overall he’s hitting .272/.337/.497 in 173 at-bats since being promoted from Low-A, with reports indicating substantial improvements this year in his swing.
