COOL STUFF THAT HAPPENED YESTERDAY
****Oakland Athletics rookie Matt Olson homered in his third consecutive game. Although hitting just .211 in 71 MLB at-bats, he has seven homers already and a .521 SLG.
****Boston Red Sox rookie Rafael Devers hit a home run on a 103 MPH fastball from Aroldis Chapman. Devers has been outstanding in the majors so far, hitting .328/.391/.586 in 58 at-bats. Meanwhile, fellow Boston rookie Andrew Benintendi is also on a hot streak, hitting .410 in his last 10 games with four homers and five stolen bases.
****St. Louis Cardinals rookie Paul DeJong continued mashing National League pitching with a 3-for-5 game, homering in his second consecutive contest. He’s up to 18 homers now with a .297/.326/.578 line.
****Cincinnati Reds prospect Nick Senzel, who will be the Paul DeJong of 2018, went 3-for-5 for Double-A Pensacola with two homers. He’s hitting .436 in his last 10 games and .352/.405/.587 in 179 at-bats since being promoted to the Southern League.
