MLB: All Star Game-Futures Game Steve Mitchell-USA TODAY Sports

Many apologies Minor League Ball fans. Yesterday, for the first time since I’ve been here we missed a Minor League Ball Gameday. John was called away from the computer for the day, and I was at work deep into coverage of the PGA Championship. I assure you, this won’t happen again, and hope you forgive us.

Here’s the Minor League Ball Gameday discussion thread for Friday, August 11th 2017. Below are the normal links that help you get through the night.

****Today’s Minor League Scoreboard

****Today’s MLB scoreboard

****Wednesday’s (and some of Thursday’s) Highlights can be found in the Wednesday discussion thread.

****Analysis of all the deadline trades involving prospects can be found here.

What we miss?

* Jeren Kendall broke out of his slump with his first career 4-hit game.

* Nick Senzel is my favorite position player selected in last year’s first round (but I still love the home run power of Zack Collins, too). Anyway, he continued his torrid sophomore campaign with a pair of bombs last night.

* Two big-time prospects make their debut tonight, against each other nonetheless. Our own Ricky Keeler highlighted what to expect from the Mets Dominic Smith. Just a few weeks ago, I went and watched the Phillies Rhys Hoskins. Here’s my detailed scouting profile from that night of the first base prospect who will be taking the outfield in his Major League debut.

* Don’t forget, John is amid his Midseason Top 20 Prospects review. If you’ve missed any, here’s the complete list to get caught up.

Alrighty, that should be a good start to get us going. Take it away in the comment section!
