It just so happens that my family vacation to New Hampshire coincides with the Eastern League All Star Game this year. The game will be held on Wednesday July 12 from Northeast Delta Dental Stadium, home of the Fisher Cats.
Here’s my dilemma.
There aren’t many Top 100 prospects in the Eastern League this season. On top of that, some of the other prospects I was hoping to see are unavailable for one reason or the other, like Justus Sheffield, PJ Conlon and Mike Ford.
Obviously, all eyes will be on Rafael Devers and Francisco Mejia, assuming they make the trip after playing in the MLB Futures Game on Sunday. If they are there, I hope to see a couple of good at bats.
Who else is on people’s radars this season?
Take a look at the Eastern Divison Roster. Some of the names that caught my eye were Conner Greene, Nestor Cortes, Tomas Nido and Ryan McBroom.
How about the Western Division Roster? Aside from Mejia, the big names are slim, but Christin Stewart certainly is intriguing.
So, is our Minor League Ball community interested in anyone else on the rosters? Maybe some more under-the-radar guys that you have been curious about? I’m open to suggestions, and even insight on some of the names in the game.
