COOL STUFF THAT HAPPENED YESTERDAY
****Wednesday was a big day for Major League Rookies: Rafael Devers of the Red Sox, Yoan Moncada of the White Sox, and Lewis Brinson of the Brewers all hit their first MLB home runs. Brinson followed up with another home run this afternoon.
****White Sox prospect Michael Kopech continued tearing through Southern League lineups with his 200 MPH fastball, fanning 12 over six innings for Double-A Birmingham.
****Los Angeles Dodgers prospect Walker Buehler threw five strong innings for Triple-A Oklahoma City, giving up just one run on one hit and two walks, fanning nine.
****Colorado Rockies prospect Ryan McMahon is on a bit of a hot streak with Triple-A Albuquerque, going 2-for-4 last night and 7-for-14 in his last three games. He’s hit .333 over his last 10 games and .376/.397/.604 overall in 197 at-bats for the Isotopes.
****Philadelphia Phillies prospect J.P. Crawford went 1-for-3 with a homer and four RBI yesterday for Triple-A Lehigh Valley. He’s hit .333 in his last 10 games and .301/.396/.675 since July 1st.
