Good afternoon everyone and welcome to the Minor League Ball Gameday discussion thread for Sunday, July 16th 2017. Let’s get to it.

****Today’s Minor League Scoreboard

****Today’s MLB scoreboard

****Yesterday’s Highlights can be found in the Saturday discussion thread.

COOL STUFF THAT HAPPENED SATURDAY

****Boston Red Sox prospect Rafael Devers went 4-for-4 with a double and a home run in his debut for Triple-A Pawtucket.

****St. Louis Cardinals prospect Luke Weaver threw five strong innings for Triple-A Memphis, giving up zero walks, three hits and one run while fanning six. He now has a 1.92 ERA in 61 innings for the Redbirds and obviously has nothing left to prove in the minor leagues.

****Houston Astros prospect and 2016 first-rounder Forrest Whitley threw 5.2 shutout innings for High-A Buies Creek, allowing three hits with one walk and 10 strikeouts.

****Philadelphia Phillies prospect and 2015 first-rounder Cornelius Randolph went 4-for-5 with a home run for High-A Clearwater. He’s hitting .257/.355/.408 on the year, which may not sound great but is actually quite solid for a 20-year-old in the Florida State League, resulting in a 125 wRC+.

****Tampa Bay Rays prospect Jake Bauers went 4-for-4 for Triple-A Durham.

****San Diego Padres prospect Robbie Podorsky went 6-for-6 with the Tri-City Dust Devils of the Northwest League and is now hitting .421 in his first 14 professional games. He was drafted in the 25th round last month out of McNeese State University, where he’d hit .319/.397/.453 with 39 steals in 57 games. Obivously we need to see him at higher levels but his career is off to a good start.
