Good afternoon everyone and welcome to the Minor League Ball Gameday discussion thread for Tuesday, June 27th, 2017. Let’s get started.

****Yesterday’s Highlights can be found in the Monday discussion thread.

COOL STUFF THAT HAPPENED YESTERDAY

****In his first game for Triple-A Colorado Springs since being returned to the minors, Milwaukee Brewers prospect Lewis Brinson went 4-for-4 with a home run and three RBI against the Omaha Stormchasers.

****Another recent demotion: Tyler Glasnow of the Pittsburgh Pirates. Once again he mowed down a Triple-A lineup, throwing seven shutout innings for Indianapolis against Durham, giving up two hit and two walks while fanning 12. He’s already been proven unhittable at this level. What’s the solution for fixing him in the majors? I wish I knew, although the massive turnaround experienced by Twins pitcher Jose Berrios this year should remind us that it is much too soon to give up on Glasnow.

****St. Louis Cardinals prospect Zac Gallen made his ifrst start for Triple-A Memphis and pitched credibly against Oklahoma City, fanning eight in five innings of work, giving up no walks but six hits and three runs. He’s only been in pro ball one year, having been drafted in the third round out of North Carolina in 2016. He needs more time, but it has been an impressively rapid rise.
