Good afternoon everyone and welcome to the Minor League Ball Gameday discussion thread for Monday, June 26th, 2017. Let’s get started.

****Today’s Minor League Scoreboard

****Today’s MLB scoreboard

****Yesterday’s Highlights can be found in the Sunday discussion thread.

COOL STUFF THAT HAPPENED YESTERDAY

****Texas Rangers rookie Drew Robinson went 2-for-4 against the New York Yankees, his first major league hit being a home run.

****Los Angeles Dodgers prospect Walker Buehler went five innings for the Tulsa Drillers against Northwest Arkansas in Double-A Texas League action, giving up two runs on two hits and a walk, fanning ten. He now has a 3.28 ERA in eight starts for Tulsa with 44/9 K/BB in 35.2 innings.

****One of my favorite sleeper prospects in the 2017 MLB Draft class is catcher Deon Stafford, drafted by the Pittsburgh Pirates in the fifth round out of St. Joseph’s University. He made his pro debut in a double-header for West Virginia in the New York-Penn League yesterday, going 3-for-7 with two doubles, a home run, and a walk.

****Seattle Mariners pitching prospect Nathan Bannister allowed just one hit in seven innings for the Modesto Nuts in the High-A California League in a start against Stockton, giving up no runs and one walk, while fanning eight. Drafted in the 28th round last year from the University of Arizona, he has an ugly 5.74 ERA in 64 innings due to giving up 76 hits, but has a sharp 53/13 K/BB ratio and demonstrates a good curveball. I wonder if his stuff could play up in short doses out of the pen at higher levels.
