Good afternoon everyone and welcome to the Minor League Ball Gameday discussion thread for Saturday, June 24th, 2017. Let’s get started.
****Today’s Minor League Scoreboard
****Yesterday’s Highlights can be found in the Friday discussion thread.
COOL STUFF THAT HAPPENED YESTERDAY
****Chicago White Sox pitching prospect Michael Kopech fanned eight over six strong innings for Double-A Birmingham in the Southern League, allowing Montgomery two runs on two walks and five hits. He now has a 3.38 ERA in 72 innings with a 94/46 K/BB ratio and only 46 hits and a .183 average allowed.
****Cleveland Indians slugging first base prospect Bobby Bradley went 3-for-4 for Double-A Akron in the Eastern League, moving his season line up to .250/.346/.455. He has 11 homers, along with 32 walks and 60 strikeouts in 224 at-bats. His K-rate is down substantially this year despite the jump to Double-A at age 21, which is certainly a positive trend.
****Colorado Rockies outfield prospect Yonathan Daza went 6-for-6 for the Lancaster Jethawks in the California League, giving him a .356 average in 250 at-bats.
****Toronto Blue Jays pitching prospect Sean Reid-Foley threw seven shutout innings for Double-A New Hampshire, fanning five against Binghamton and lowering his ERA to 4.70 in 59 innings.
